Tammy is a robotic creation envisioned by world-famous instrument sculptor Trimpin, Michael Darling, and Ajay Kapur. Students of the Robotic Design class at California Institute of the Arts engineered each distinctive instrument on Tammy, including the hand-crafted marimba, drone string, and bells. Built using recycled objects found in the APEX junk yard and classrooms at the Institute, Tammy stands six feet tall with 14 actuators (and counting!)
