Meason Wiley

Biography

Meason Wiley is an electronic musician + visual artist based out of Los Angeles, California. In 2008, he received his bachelor of art in Music Technology (in the Music Technology: Interaction, Intelligence, & Design program) from the California Institute of the Arts. In 2009, he worked as the MTIID graduate research and teaching assistant. He received his first publication from the NIME Conference in 2009 for his design of an open source + modular gestural controller called the MLGI. He work focuses on various aspects of music technology including software design, sound design, instrument + interface design, electronic composition and new technologies for multimedia. He is also interested in bridging the world of multimedia technology with environmental sustainability. As a musician, he is currently exploring various computer-based generative + algorithmic processes, but continues to work with both traditional and hybrid interactive musical composition.
